Mountains to...eat?

Hello! Twas a wonderful week full of happiness and lots of other things.

Okay, first I gotta tell you about the dinner we had last night--classic Ohio noodles with chicken and gravy plopped on top. Well, the member who fed us realized she served herself too much, so dumped half of hers onto my already mountainous pile of noodles. πŸ˜‚ I said a silent prayer asking for help to eat it all. PRAYER WORKS!! Hahaha it was hard, but I ate every last bite. The portion would have put all my Morris cousins to shame ;)

We also got lost and accidentally found the world's largest basket...so that was pretty cool :)

The other day we decided to eat lunch at Sam's Club because of how yummy and cheap it is. At the end of the night we felt like there was one more door we needed to knock on before going in, so we prayed and kept our eyes peeled and listened for the prompting of where to go. The Spirit led us directly to a woman who had seen us at Sam's Club! Coincidence? I think not! She didn't want to meet with us again, but she completely accepted the invitation we gave her.

We are experiencing lots of miracles everyday and are really excited for the people we are starting to teach.

Hope you all have a happy Easter and take time to reflect on how much your Savior means to you 😊 I'd love to get emails from all y'all filling in the blank to this sentence, "because of Him________"

Because of Him I know my family is forever. I know what it means to be truly happy and how to grow happier with each day.

I love my Savior and I love you all!!! πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜™

Happy Spring!

The work in Zanesville is going wonderfully:) the first day of spring has been snowy, but we are optimistic for the warm weather...someday πŸ˜‰

It's been a pretty average week, so sorry if this email is a little boring. We spend lots of time finding and teaching which is good. The best thing that happened was service at Loma's house last night. We gave her a copy of The Living Christ on Monday and when we got there she was so excited because she had found a beautiful old picture frame that her mom had given her. She said, "my mom would be so proud that I found such a good use for this frame." She is doing so well and just loves the Gospel with all her heart. Sister Hansen and I feel so blessed to know Loma and see how much happiness the gospel and atonement of Jesus Christ have brought into her life.

(Brad: Miki didn't think this story would be appropriate but I decided to include it anyway (slightly edited)

Something pretty crazy did happen though! We got invited by some people we met on the street to a Bible study. We we're pumped thinking it would be a Bible study like the scripture study groups at our church. NOPE. We arrived to the address they sent us and it was an Anchor church! 😢 we laughed and said, "oh boy...this will be interesting..." which it was. If you don't know, members of the anchor church very much believe in yelling, speaking in tongues, and all being scary and talking at the same time. And they will randomly lift up their arms. The preacher guy spent almost the entire Bible study yelling at all of us, clapping his hands as loud as he possibly could (I was honestly surprised that his hands didn't break ;)) oh man. It was such an experience. A couple different times they all started speaking in tongues while praying and I just closed my eyes and prayed that it would stop. They taught some true doctrine, but are missing sooo many plain and simple truths that make Jesus Christ's gospel happy and peaceful! Anyways, we left that Bible study with strengthened testimonies of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know without a doubt that this is Jesus Christ's church that he came to establish for us. :)

AπŸ€”

lso, ignore the anti comments that have started appearing on my Facebook page. All these people from around the world keep posting on it or sending me friend requests...absolutely no idea how they're finding it.

It was a great week and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be here. Take time today to help someone else smile 😊

Have a great week, everyone!

Some happy, some sad...

Hello! So many things happened this week and I don't even know where to start. I guess we shall start with Loma!

Loma is pur investigator on date for baptism on the 7th of April. She is doing AMAZING. Every time we see her she expressed how excited she is to be baptized and how she wants it more than anything else. This week at church the ward was soo good at fellowshipping her! It is amazing seeing the work progress. She has such a light in her eyes and is so happy. This is a story she told us the other night: "The other day I went to visit my brother and he asked me, "what happened? Did you meet someone? You met someone." I just laughed and said, "no, I didn't meet anyone and I don't want to meet anyone." To which he replied, "then why are you so happy?" And I told him that it's because of the Book of Mormon! It just makes you so happy!" " As she told is this story we were all so happy. The Book of Mormon has so much power.:) if you don't know, read it and see if it makes you happier! I promise it will :)

This week made us even more grateful for the plan of salvation. Our investigator, Liz, who we've been working with since my very first day here in Zanesville, passed away suddenly Friday morning. :( my heart broke into five billion pieces when we found out. She was so close to reaching her desire of being baptised and receiving the gospel blessings into her life. She has many less active children, so we will be working hard and praying diligently to help them come back to church so they can do the temple work for their mom...and themselves. Liz was one of the kindest people I have ever met. I am so blessed to have gotten to know her and spend so much time with her. I can't wait to see her again someday! Her funeral service was very beautiful. So many of the ward members who have loved her for so long were there, and it was so focused on the eternal plan of happiness, which she had a strong testimony of. πŸ’Ÿ

I know that God's plan is perfect. I am so grateful to have parents who taught me and my sisters of it, and that we are an eternal family. I am beyond words grateful for the joy the fullness of Jesus Christ's gospel brings.

Thank you all for your prayers! I love you all! Be happy and don't forget to hug those you love πŸ’•

Payback....and lot's of referrals!

WOWZA!! This week was a roller coaster. Don't worry, a really good roller coaster :)

First of all, it's already transfers and we got good news! Sister Hansen and I are staying together! 😊 going on transfer #5 in Zanesville! Woot woot! I never want to get transferred...maybe I'll be here for over half my mission like Mitch in colima :)

Sister Hansen's first sunday here she was called up randomly during sacrament to bear her testimony. I laughed because id been out 8 1/2 months and never had to get up in front of a congregation and she gpt called on her first sunday. Well...we had stake conference this weekend and shortly before the meeting started the presiding general authority, Elder Taylor (watch for him in this next general conference :)) came right up to me, introduced himself, asked me where I was from and my name and all that good stuff, and then he asked if he could call on me to come up during his talk!!! 🀀 I clearly couldn't say no to a general authority ;) as soon as he called me and three others up my legs started shaking horribly. Haha it was great. Thankfully what he asked us to do was read a quote and bear our testimonies of the power of the Book of Mormon. :) it was scary but an opportunity that I'm very grateful for. The coolest thing about it was Saturday night I had the thought come to my mind, "Sister Morris, you are going to get called on to bear your testimony tomorrow so don't freak out." I didn't like that thought so I just pushed it out of my mind. It did help though...i was less surprised when Elder Taylor came up to me. So grateful that Heavenly Father knows us so perfectly and knows how to help us not freak out as badly in terrifying situations. πŸ˜‚

Elder Taylor also invited everyone to send a name of someone they wished was sitting next to them to the elders that were there on Saturday. We got 9 referrals from that!! And we are going to start teaching a family because of it!! 😁 this  family is so prepared. They received a copy of The Family A Proclamation to the World from a member and they have it hanging up on their fridge. Needless to say we had a little dance party in the car when we got this referral. πŸ˜ŠπŸŽ‰

Great things are happening in the great OCM. I love being a missionary and I love being a member of Jesus Christ's church. πŸ˜„ thanks for the prayers and love! I love you all lots and lots!

Love,
Sister Morris
