Prayer works!

Hello!

Last week I failed to mention something that was quite memorable. We had exchanges with the OSU sisters, Sister Hill and Sister Donaldson and I stayed on campus with Sister Hill. Being in down town Columbus here are some pretty odd people who roam around on campus. Anyway, we were having a great conversation with these two cute girls from South America when a high man walks up to us and mumbles something about thinking we were on the news. We tried to walk away a little bit but he followed...silently. He was being super weird and staring at us so I looked back at him to see if he wanted to say anything. He did. He looked at my forehead and asked if he could pop the zits on it. πŸ˜‚ Hahaha it took everything in me not to bust up laughing. Man it was so great. The contact with those two girls ended up going great and now the sisters are teaching them! In the great OCM we embrace the awkward and we experience miracles.

Okay, now for a miracle in Marble Cliff! Sister Cox and I had to stay in one day until 6pm doing planning and other administrative stuff and were going stir crazy. When we were finally able to get out we decided to stop by some referrals that we had received. As we were praying before going to see the first referral we prayed that Heavenly Father would guide us to someone He had prepared to hear about the gospel...someone who would want to be baptized. We got out of the car and no more than ten seconds later a woman yelled to us and said, "THE MISSIONARIES!!" She then went on to explain that she had previously been taught by elders but that they hadn't stopped by for a while. She told us how she believes everything and wants to be baptized. WHAT. Haha our minds were blown. They really shouldn't have because Heavenly Father is amazing, but they were. Her name is Robyn and she's got a SOLID testimony already. 😊 She will be baptized but it may take a while.

Life is amazing in the great OCM! Thank you all for the prayers and support! I hope you all have a happy week!

The Gospel ties families together!

OH MY GOODNESS!!
Another transfer has begun and this time it's with the lovely Sister Cox from Pocatello, Idaho. She is so funny and just super wonderful 😊 she was serving in the Cleveland mission before the merge happened. The elders also got booted out so we now cover the entire ward boundary...which means we have down town and inner city Columbus! Woot Woot! πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠ

Now for the crazy amazing miracle that has happened. The first full day we had together we received the most unique and incredible referral. Her name is Maria and she learned about the church through her long lost brother in Peru. Her brother is a recently returned missionary and remembered from his early childhood that he had a sister. Miraculously he found her and started telling her about the gospel. She came to church and absolutely loved it. During relief Society she told us how she has always wondered why there are so many different churches and how she could know which one is Jesus Christ's church. Wow. She's incredible. We are so excited to teach her and see you embrace the gospel! Someday she and her brother will be able to be sealed to their parents and have an eternal family. She is so cute and is so happy to have her little brother in her life again.

We are loving life and wanting time to slow down.

Thank you all for the prayers and encouragement! I hope you have a wonderful week! 😊Take some time to go to the temple this week! You can help others have eternal families!

Debbie went under!

To start off, I'd like you all to try and pronounce this word:
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

No, I didn't just type up a bunch of random letters. That is the name of the town in Wales that Andy and Debbie are from! πŸ˜‚ Isn't that crazy? Haha I'll try to get a video of them saying it.

Great news! Debbie got baptized on Saturday! Unfortunately the bishop has been out of town so Andy was not able to receive the priesthood or baptize her, but she was still so happy! She is terrified of going under water so baptism was a pretty scary thing for her. When she came up out of the water there was absolutely no fear--just pure joy. She and Andy are so incredible! Their son, Richard, is super kind and has been working on a painting of the Savior for Sister Hicks and me. Debbie gave us two rough drafts at church and holy cow. They are beautiful! Hopefully he and his wife will start taking the discussions soon.

After two super fantastic transfers with Sister Hicks, she is getting booted out of Marble Cliff. :( I'm so grateful to have been blessed with such amazing companions my whole mission! Super excited for another transfer in the Cliff. I know there are so many miracles in store!

Thank you all for you prayers and letters of encouragement! Remember to read from the Book of Mormon everyday! It'll make you happier I promise πŸ˜€

Love you all,
Sister Morris 🐊

The why of missionary work...

Wel...we are officially merged with the Cleveland mission and have lost one of our zones. :( my dear friend Sister Johnson is one of the few who are now part of the Cincinnati mission. Although it is hard seeing those missionaries and friends leave, it is very comforting knowing that everyone is exactly where Heavenly Father needs them to be! We had MLC (mission leadership council) yesterday and were able to meet all the zone leaders and sister training leaders from up north. They're awesome! We are super excited to get to know all of their missionaries better and to serve in the more northern parts of Ohio. :)

Great news. Andy was baptized on Friday and confirmed on Sunday! :) his life has completely turned around. He and Debbie (who is going to be baptized this Saturday) absolutely love the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are the why of missionary work. God has asked us to share the gospel because it changes lives. Faith in Jesus Christ and following his example brings more lasting happiness than anything else. :) I'm so grateful for the missionaries who taught and baptized my great great great grandparents over in Europe. I'm so grateful for the missionaries who taught and baptized my mom! Without the gospel and people willing to sacrifice in order to share it, my family would not be an eternal family. I'm so grateful for God's command to share this happy happy news.

Hope you all have a great week! Lots of love from Ohio 😊
